Learn and practice basic yoga techniques, including breathing, stretches and yoga postures. Both classes will teach basic yoga to increase your flexibility, strength, and ability to relax, and are suitable for all skill levels. We provide mats and props; however, you are welcome to bring your own mat if that is your preference.

About the faculty

Sage Hopkins - Wednesday instructor

Sage Hopkins, Cancer Retreat yoga facilitator and Weekly Yoga facilitator, has worked as a massage therapist since 1996 and began teaching yoga in 2001. He spent 4 weeks at Sivananda ashram in California in and trained under Godfrey Devereux (originator of the Dynamic Yoga teaching method) for 7 weeks in Ibiza, Spain. Sage has been a yoga teacher for the YMCA and the Bremerton Parks & Recreation. Sage's focus in teaching is to create a safe environment for students to discover and awaken the body's inherent healing capability and intelligence. Sage's Dynamic Yoga teaching method is fun, safe and enlivening!

Kathleen Sheets, CYI, RYT - Thursday instructor

Kathleen Sheets is a certified yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance. In 2000, after many years of experimenting with yoga, she dedicated herself to a regular practice, moving deeper into the many branches of the tree of yoga and into teaching. She completed her training at Universal Movement Yoga Studio, in Virginia Beach, VA., and has had the opportunity to attend workshops with many nationally known teachers. In addition to the weekly Thursday yoga class at Harmony Hill, Kathleen teaches regular classes in the Bremerton area and is an adjunct faculty member at Olympic College.
