A DAY OF YOGA & MEDITATION

Join us for this special workshop as we gather in the serene and sacred space of St. Mary-on-the-Lake in Bellevue, Washington. Led by Denise Carrico, Chaplain, Certified Integral Yoga Teacher, and Faculty-in-Residence at Harmony Hill, this quiet and restful day offers a rich inner exploration and a sweet connection with others and the natural world around us.

Workshop Highlights:

In this immersive day of self-discovery, guided by the wisdom of yoga and meditation you’ll embark on a journey of self-awareness, compassion, and inner peace. Together, we will practice:

  1. Community and Connection: Experience the power of shared intention and the support of a like-minded community, fostering a sense of unity (yoga) and belonging.
  2. Awakening Our Highest Aspirations: Through the collective energy of the group, we will dedicate ourselves to awakening our highest aspirations, not only for our personal growth but also for the well-being of all beings, recognizing that each of us is an integral part of this greater tapestry of existence.
  3. Mindful Breath and Movement: Begin the day with gentle yoga postures and mindful breathwork, allowing you to find harmony in both body and mind.
  4. Art and Poetry: Tap into your creative essence with art and poetry, expressing your thoughts, emotions, and aspirations in a soulful and meaningful way.
  5. Sitting and Walking Meditation: Delve into the stillness of meditation, both seated and through walking meditation, to cultivate inner calm and clarity.

Who Should Attend:

This workshop is open to individuals of all experience levels, whether you’re new to yoga and meditation or have an established practice. It’s an inclusive and welcoming space for anyone seeking inner peace, self-awareness, and a deeper connection with the inner and outer world.

As we gather in the sacred haven of St. Mary’s, we invite you to embark on a day of self-discovery, mindfulness, and connection. Denise Carrico’s guidance, combined with the tranquil ambiance of this retreat, will create a nurturing environment for you to awaken to your highest aspirations and contribute to the well-being of all living beings. Come join us on this enriching journey within and beyond.

DENISE CARRICO, BFA, CERTIFIED INTEGRAL YOGA TEACHER, CBC-Y, CHAPLAIN-IN-TRAINING

A life-long artist and seeker, Denise found her spiritual ‘home’ in the beautiful, heartful practices of Yoga & Meditation and has been offering classes, workshops and retreats for almost 35 years. Her hope is to make the teachings and the practices open to all who wish to deepen their relationship with themselves, to become kinder and more intimate with their own bodies and hearts and to expand that out to the wider world. Her practice is a rich and integrated one – using breath, mindfulness, Metta meditation, Yoga therapy, somatic movement, stillness, rest, poetry – and is both gentle and therapeutic.

As Faculty-in-Residence at Harmony Hill Retreat Center, Denise co-facilitates the Cancer Retreats, the Health Professional Renewal Retreats and leads two- and three-day Wellness Workshops for Yoga & Meditation as well as for Grief & Loss. Sitting in circle or moving gently to the rhythm of breath and offering a space where the wisdom and beauty of those who gather may naturally arise are at the heart of her work.

She also offers weekly Yoga & Meditation classes for the local community.

When not teaching or facilitating programs, Denise walks the quiet forest above Harmony Hill every day as a spiritual practice with her dog and, sometimes, the cat and hikes the mountains of the Olympics as often as possible.  And cherishes what is holy & beautiful in this world:  her grandchildren, the body in motion, calligraphy, the mountains, poetry, kindness, love.  These words of St Teresa of Calcutta guide her life & work:  “We can do no great things;  only small things with great love.”
